Born in 1976 in Rhinebeck, New York, Carla was exposed to design at an early age, raised in the offices of Hudson Valley magazine, her parents’ publication.
At 23, Carla was hired to be the Art Director for Chronogram magazine, where she designed 80 issues of the publication. During her tenure, the magazine flourished and the company grew significantly. Carla left Chronogram to become Senior Art Director of Clarke Thompson Advertising and Design. In 2009, Carla was hired as Design Consultant for a revitalization project in Casco Antiguo, Panama, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Carla has taught as an Adjunct Professor in the Design Department at SUNY New Paltz, and worked for many years with Woody Pirtle, founder of Pirtle Design and former Pentagram partner. In 2012, she designed the prototype of Modern Farmer to raise funding for the start-up media brand. In 2013, she developed a special project at Smithsonian Magazine.
Carla designs for a wide-range of clients. She lives in the Hudson Valley.
“Of all my students this summer, none showed more promise of becoming an accomplished artist than Carla Rozman. Her energy level is so high, her intuitive sensing of things so accurate, so pure, so charged, she’ll “go the full route,” I feel.”
